TabSailTabSail

Quickstart

Create a key, install a client, and run your first browser.

1. Create an API key

Open the console, create a project, then create an API key. Copy it when shown. Your account needs enough available credits for the requested lifetime.

export TABSAIL_BASE_URL="https://tabsail.com"
export TABSAIL_API_KEY="YOUR_PROJECT_KEY"

Use your instance's root URL, without /v1. Keep the key on your backend.

Test access

Confirm access and credits with your instance operator. Production checkout is planned for the 1.0 release and is not available yet.

2. Install

Install the 0.1.0 SDK from npm or PyPI.

Requires Python 3.12 or newer:

uv init --python 3.12
uv add "tabsail==0.1.0" playwright

A remote CDP connection does not need a local browser download.

3. Run

Save as quickstart.py. Run uv run python quickstart.py.

import asyncio
from playwright.async_api import async_playwright
from tabsail import AsyncTabSail

async def main():
    async with AsyncTabSail() as client:
        async with client.with_session(timeout_seconds=300) as session:
            grant = await client.sessions.connections.create(session.id)
            async with async_playwright() as runtime:
                browser = await runtime.chromium.connect_over_cdp(grant.url)
                try:
                    context = browser.contexts[0]
                    page = context.pages[0] if context.pages else await context.new_page()
                    await page.goto("https://example.com")
                    title = await page.title()
                    assert title == "Example Domain"
                    print(session.id, title)
                finally:
                    await browser.close()

asyncio.run(main())

4. Verify

Browser examples print a session ID and Example Domain, then release. The HTTP example prints ready, then released.

Check the console: the session should be closed with non-null releasedAt. CDP disconnection alone does not release a browser.

Continue with browser features or an example.
